| Sarissa Biomedical Ltd was formed in November 2002 as a spin-out from the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Warwick. The Company specialises in the development and production of novel biosensors for the measurement of purines during in vitro and in vivo studies for research and clinical diagnostic applications. This technology is underpinned by a developing IP Portfolio, where the Company is the Sole Licensee of the University. The Company launched its first product, ' sarissa probe ™- ATP ', at the Society for Neuroscience Meeting in San Diego, CA during October 2004. This is the first in a series of products aimed at the research community and based on a common Product Platform concept. Future inclusions in this Portfolio will be adenosine, inosine and acetylcholine. The second product, sarissa probe ™- ADO, for the measurement of adenosine, is currently undergoing external trial, prior to launch. Further products, including a sensor for acetylcholine, are planned for launch within the next 12 months and the Company is embarking on a research programme, aimed at developing a range of biomarker-based in vitro Diagnostic devices (IVD's). |
