Warwick Effect Polymers (WEP) is an innovative polymer synthesis company that is exploiting controlled radical polymerisation to produce novel polymers under commercially accessible conditions for the biosciences, materials and specialty chemicals industries. WEP was created as a University of Warwick trading activity and launched as a Limited Company in October 2001. In April 2003, after significant investment was attracted, WEP moved to a purpose built facility on the University of Warwick Science Park. WEP has the exclusive rights to controlled radical polymerisation technology generated by Professor David Haddleton's research group at the University of Warwick and are developing this via a range of methods, which include joint venture research and licensing deals. This technology includes a new method which allows the production of complex polymers under greater control than the conventional polymerisation techniques used in most laboratories.
WEP, using a variety of polymerisation synthesis and analysis techniques, offers services in three main areas: (i) custom polymer synthesis, (ii) contract research, and (iii) polymer analysis and characterisation. |
